Where do we come from ? What are we? Where are we going? is undoubtedly the most famous work of Paul Gauguin.

Setting up definitively in Tahiti in 1895 after a first trip in 1891, the painter fell under the spell of vegetation, and local customs and decided to represent that in the form of a huge painting (3.74 m long).
